Monnickendam, Volendam and Marken are three different villages on the Markermeer. Monnickendam is known as a quiet fishing village and its harbour. Volendam is the most popular tourist destination and known for its fortress-traditional Dutch customs and its beautiful harbour. In this harbour, you will find beautiful fish called Eel (eel). Marken is a traditional small peninsula connected to the mainland. Marken is known for its authentic wooden houses. These three villages all have a different rich historical story behind the beautiful fish that you can catch and eat there. During the ride from village to village you drive through authentic Dutch polders and along narrow dikes.
